On January 25th, Alert Logic's customers were among the first companies to receive a crucial software update capable of accurately identifying the SQL Slammer worm attack. The update, which was released in less than an hour after the initial detection, was a critical first line of defense against this rapidly spreading worm. Further updates detected any signs of malicious SQL traffic directed at its customers' networks and were invaluable in preventing damage resulting from the worm.
