CyrusOne Awarded SAS 70 - Type II Certification


Houston, TX - July 26, 2005 - IT infrastructure leader CyrusOne announced today its certification as an SAS 70 Type II facility by the American Institute of Certified Accountants (AICPA).

The Statement on Auditing Standards, 70 (SAS 70) is an internationally-recognized auditing standard developed with the AICPA ensuring that a service organization has undergone an in-depth audit of its control activities, including controls over information technology and IT-related processes.

The SAS 70 standard provides proof from an impartial third-party that an organization has implemented the policies and processes that keep its information secure, stable and safe to government compliance standards such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. Type II SAS certification means that not only are those policies and processes in place, but the company has a proven track record of performing with those controls.

Standards such as SAS 70 have become critical in the wake of the Sarbanes-Oxley, which created significant legal penalties for publicly traded companies who lacked sufficient control standards for their financial information.
