CyrusOne Offers Better IT Performance, Economics to Texas Medical Center Institutions

Texas Medical Center (TMC - http://www.tmc.edu) has announced a new alliance with IT infrastructure leader CyrusOne (http://www.cyrusone.com) whereby CyrusOne will offer selected IT services to TMC member institutions. The relationship will provide an opportunity for TMC member institutions to improve IT reliability, economics and security.

A cornerstone of the project will include TMC’s new Dark Fiber link, which will have the capability of providing broadband connections to member institutions on the Texas Medical Center main campus as well as the John P. McGovern Campus, providing secure transmission of voice, data and video to multiple campus locations at a long-term reduced cost.

This potential new link will enable TMC member institutions to securely connect to CyrusOne datacenters for technology services such as colocation, disaster recovery, business continuity, storage, backup and remote system and network management. TMC members will be able to use CyrusOne’s class A datacenters to improve IT performance, implementation of new healthcare technologies, operational economics and risk management capability.
